My grandfather took arthritis medicine with some potentially life threatening side effects. It was eventually taken off the market, but he would repeatedly tell anyone who would listen that the risks were worth it because nothing helped him more than the meds they took away.
It’s a tricky middle ground, but if hospitals and doctors already have Against Medical Advice forms, then people should be allowed to choose for themselves

Got some ssri for anxiety years ago.had thoughts that were demonic in nature and noped out on medication.shit was not normal.
